PRESIDENT MAIA SANDU EXPANDED THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR EUROPEAN INTEGRATION – PRESIDENTIAL DECREE

The membership of the National Commission for European Integration has been significantly expanded. As reported by INFOTAG, President Maia Sandu has signed a Decree approving the new composition of the commission, which now consists of 64 people, almost twice as many as the previous composition, which included 37 people.

The commission includes practically all members of the government and several governmental institutions, as well as the Speaker of the Parliament and heads of major committees, leaders of structures ensuring security - the Ministry of Defense, the Information and Security Service, the Center for Combating Disinformation. The commission also includes a number of advisors and staff from the presidential administration, Eurointegration Bureau employees, heads of the Congress of Local Authorities, representatives of trade unions and several NGOs.

At the same time, there are no representatives of the opposition and Gagauzia in the commission.
