​US MILITARY PROVIDE TO MOLDOVA MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND HELP REPAIR SCHOOL

On behalf of the USA Government and US Armed Forces in Europe, one of Chisinau special schools has been repaired and put into operation on Tuesday and medical equipment has been given to the Ministry of Defense Central Hospital.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the modernization of school sanitation blocks has been carried out by a group of engineers from the United States Air Force, specialized in military construction. They were helped by the Moldovan National Army.

William Moser, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the U.S. to Moldova, who participated at the ceremony of commissioning, said that the US Air Force in Europe have implemented already about 40 projects.

The US military cooperated with a school for deaf-mute and hard of hearing children. They were provided with hearing devices, while US engineers installed in school a ramp for wheelchairs, new doors and renovated the main entrance. Command of the US Air Force in Europe will continue this activity, said diplomat.

Also on Tuesday, the Central Military Hospital of Moldova received dental equipment and medical instruments worth US$364 thousand

Ambassador Moser said during the ceremony that this is a gift from American taxpayers and it should be used for the benefit of both military and civil population of the Republic of Moldova.

The equipment has been provided within the Moldo-American project “Preventing AIDS and tuberculosis in Moldova”.
