CUSTOMS SERVICE ADMINISTRATORS CONTROLLING TRANSPORT AND PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN RAIONS

Specialists of the Customs Service central apparatus are coordinating the transport and passenger movement at all border checkpoints for optimizing the customs’ activity and reducing corruption risks at registration of cargoes and citizens’ traveling.

According to the Service, these measures were taken at the order of Prime Minister Pavel Filip. For optimizing the control, not only additional trained personnel were provided, but also new equipment. The regime of activity is conducted round-the-clock. Since July 19, green corridors were opened at four most popular customs points – Sculeni, Leuseni, Tudora and Giurgiulesti – for those, who are ready to undergo control on a simplified scheme.

At the same time, a number of checkpoints are being extended and equipped in order to raise their traffic capacity in the nearest time.

The Customs Service reminded that an interactive map of checkpoints’ location was uploaded to the website customs.gov.md.

Transporters and passengers may call the single number of the Customs Service Informational Center +373 22 574 111 to find out about conditions that should be fulfilled at border crossing, as well as limits of transported goods’ volumes, tax fees, as well as to report about acts of corruption.

At the Service website, in the rubric TRAFICUL ON LINE, one can find out about the current passableness of specific checkpoints.

The Service said that in the night to Monday, problems with border crossing appeared in the Tudora-Starocazacie at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The Customs Service’s leadership is cooperating with profile services of the neighboring countries for removing the appeared obstacles in work. All other checkpoints are operating in normal regime.

The Customs Station said that only in Leuseni, 485 transport means went out of the country and 438 vehicles entered Moldova in the period between 8:00 through 13:30.
