PRESIDENT IGOR DODON WILL BUILD SPORTS GROUNDS IN MOLDOVAN VILLAGES

Presidential press secretary Ion Ceban announced at the Monday’s press briefing that the President of Moldova Igor Dodon is launching a project on building open sport complexes in the country.

The building will start in the nearest time in ten country’s largest villages.

“It is planned to build ten of such complexes until the end of the year, 100 – next year, while the rest – till the end of the presidential mandate. In total, till 2020 it is planned the building of 300 sport grounds, which will include football, basketball, volleyball and tennis grounds, as well as children playing grounds and grounds with sports equipment”, Ceban said.

He said that the building will be conducted only in rural areas, starting from country’s largest villages. The building will be agreed with local public administration. In case someone renounces the project, it will be implemented in the next largest locality.

The press secretary also said that another presidential project implies providing of assistance to 100 most needy kindergartens in 2018. This may be repairing, furnishing, buying of equipment, or resolving of other problems country kindergartens face.

Talking about the financing of the project, he said that all the works will be financed not at the expense of budget funds.

“This will be partnership with various organizations, both Moldovan and foreign. In particular, the building of one hundred of sport complexes next year is planned to be conducted at the expense of assistance from Turkmenistan. Such an agreement was achieved between presidents of the two countries during the recent visit of Igor Dodon to Turkmenistan”, Ceban said.

Before, President Igor Dodon conducted repairs of country presidential residence in Condrita village and promised to finish by the end of the year the capital repairing of the presidential administration building in the Chisinau downtown, which suffered during protest actions on April 7, 2009. He also stated that all the works will be conducted without attracting budget funds – at the expense of assistance from Turkey and other countries. After that, oppositional parties and the media accused the president of corruption and the possible protectionism to companies, which are providing assistance in repairing state institution buildings.
