MAYOR CHIRTOACA INTENDS TO CONINUE GOVERNING CHISINAU UNTIL END OF MANDATE IN 2019

20 november, 2017

Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated about the intention to fulfill his duties until his mandate expires in 2019. He said this at the press-conference late at night on Sunday after it was declared that the anti-Chirtoaca referendum failed due to low activity of electors.

“I want to express gratitude to voters, who put political adventurers who initiated the referendum, in their place. Over the last half-a-year, they organized a downright mockery over Chisinau citizens. But people did not fall for all this; they heard our call and boycotted the referendum. For this we are very grateful to them”, Chirtoaca said.

He expressed hope that after the referendum failed, the criminal case against him will also be closed.

“Enjoying electors’ trust, I intend to come back to the head of the city government to fulfill my duties until my mandate expires in June 2019”, Chirtoaca said.

According to him, Chisinau citizens gave a positive signal to citizens of the entire Moldova.

“They demonstrated how to behave against impostors and political adventurers, how to vote at next elections to get rid of this dirt. Only together with Romania and Europe we have a chance to improve life”, Chirtoaca said.
