PRESIDENT APPOINTS RODICA ANTOCI AS NIA CHAIRWOMAN

29 december, 2017

President Igor Dodon signed an order on appointing Rodica Antoci as Chairman of the National Integrity Authority.

On his Facebook page, the President pointed that he had a meeting with the appointed chairman of the NIA, designed for strengthening the statehood, legality and integrity of Moldova’s social milieu.

“The activity of the agency was blocked for almost a year. The proposal on her appointment to the post was supported by representatives of civil society – members of the Integrity Council. The dossier contains all the necessary data”, Dodon wrote.

He expressed hope that Ms. Rodica Antoci will be fulfilling her duties in strict compliance with the law, while the agency headed by her will keep preventing the phenomena that lead to administrative corruption.

According to the legislation, the NIA has to swear in to the President within 5 days since the moment of order publication. At the beginning of December, Lilian Chisca was appointed as NIA deputy chairman. In this way, the formation of the new NIA leadership has been completed. The NIA was established at the beginning of 2017 instead of the Commission for Integrity.
