PREMIER DEMANDS RESPONSIBLE AGENCIES TO MAXIMALLY MOBILIZE TO RESIST BAD WEATHER

Responsible structures should maximally mobilize for operative removal of problems and the consequences, caused by the bad weather, said Prime Minister Pavel Filip at the Thursday morning extraordinary meeting of the Government Commission for Emergency Situations.

Representatives of services and ministries presented information about the situation in the republic, as well as measures, taken for resolving the situation.

"We have already got convinced that if reacting timely, the damage from the bad weather may be minimized. This time, state structures reacted prompter, but we have to be ready for any development of events", the Premier said.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, most of national roads have been cleared of snow, there are still some difficulties on the routes Balti-Criva and Chisinau-Leuseni. All the roads are being permanently controlled in order to promptly intervene if necessary. Overnight, 331 special vehicles have been mobilized, which used 3 thousand tons of sleetproof reagents.

Crisis centers have been established in the north, the center and the south of the republic. Police employees were mobilized for providing help to school buses. According to the Border Police, five border crossing points are closed in the south, while the Giurgiulesti-Reni checkpoint has already resumed its work.

Since the beginning of heavy snowfall, 200 localities were de-energized and the premier called on adopting urgent measures for resuming the electricity supply.
