MUNICIPAL COMMUNAL SERVICE HEAD DISMISSED

The Head of the Chisinau Municipal Department for Housing and Communal Services, Petru Gontea, resigned from office on Monday.

City Acting Mayor Silvia Radu pointed at the municipal service sitting that this decision was adopted by mutual consent, as the department needs new ideas, new vision on communal service development in the city.

"The new head of the department will be appointed on the basis of a contest, the date of which will be announced later", Radu said.

According to her, Gontea will remain in the department, as his 25-year experience is still important and necessary for developing the Chisinau household and communal services.

The resignation is connected with the unsatisfactory assessment by the Acting Mayor of the work, done after the last-week heavy snowfalls in Chisinau.

"Deplorable condition of sidewalks and courtyards is only due to the reluctance to work", she stressed.

Director the Municipal Healthcare Department Mihai Moldovanu said that over the last week, 265 Chisinau citizens demanded medical assistance due to the traumas, got at falling.
