MOLDOVAN TRANSPORT WORKERS CAN STAY IN UKRAINE MORE THAN 90 DAYS PER HALF-A-YEAR

Moldova and Ukraine reached a fundamental agreement that Moldovan transport sector workers will soon get permit to remain in the neighboring country's territory for a period that exceeds 90 days per 6 months.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, such an accord was reached within the earlier-signed Protocol to the March 20, 1993 Moldova-Ukraine Intergovernmental Agreement on international automobile communication.

MoE representative said that as a result of the conducted negotiations on the draft Protocol, the issue on excluding transporters from the list of persons subject to observing the migration legislation, according to which there are restrictions on the term of stay in the country, was successfully considered.

It is expected that already in the nearest future the sides will complete the internal procedures for fulfilling the achieved agreements in practice, which will help motorists.

At the negotiations, the Moldovan delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Sergiu Bucataru, while the Ukrainian delegation - by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Moldova Ivan Gnatishin.
