​INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONFERENCE OPENS IN MOLDOVA

The 6th International Conference “Telecommunications, Electronics and Informatics” began in Chisinau on Thursday with a touching ceremony – the awarding of the title of Honorable Member of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences [MAS] to Professor Hidenori Mimura, Director of the Scientific-Research Institute of Electronics at Shizuoki University.

MAS Vice President Ion Tighineanu said at the ceremony that the awarding decision was taken unanimously by the MAS General Assembly on April 27 “because Mr. Hidenori Mimura is a person very important for Moldova – from all viewpoints”.

Hidenori Mimura thanked the MAS leadership for the high honor given to him and said: “Moldova and Japan are countries with large development potentials, and they must be partners in all spheres, particularly in what concern new technologies because we all live in an epoch of digital technologies”.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Masanobu Yoshii, said that although the two countries are situated geographically far from each other, they have vast human resources and pursue same goals, and events like this Chisinau conference serve an extra proof of firm friendly relations between them.

The Conference, which will work until May 26, was organized to gather scientists, engineers, manufacturers and users in the field of telecommunications, electronics and informatics to let them present the latest achievements, exchange experience, organize cooperation and integrate the research, education and production activities.

The Chisinau Conference is being attended by over 100 researchers and specialists from 10 countries.

Infotag's dossier: Professor Hidenori Mimura is an outstanding specialist in nanotechnologies, the author of more than 200 articles and scientific reports, and the holder of several patents on inventions. In 2016, he was awarded with the Medal “The 70th Anniversary of Foundation of First Scientific-Research Institutes of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences”. Tighineanu and Mimura have been cooperating since 1999, when they were running scientific activities in Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany on the invitation of outstanding researcher Hans Ludwig Hartnagel.
