PENSIONS GREW 4.83% FROM APRIL 1

Starting from April 1, pensions in Moldova were indexed 4.83% for 681.2 thousand citizens of the republic. According to the National Social Insurance Fund, the size of the minimal old-age pension will account for 1131.46 lei (US$62), which is 52 lei more than the current size. The minimal disability pensions will grow to 565.73 – 848.60 lei.

The average size of the old-age pension will grow 90.69 lei for 523.4 thousand beneficiaries; the disability pension – 69.25 lei for 122.7 thousand; survivor’s pension – 63.36 lei for 11.2 thousand people.

Also, starting from April 1 the pension to Chernobyl accident liquidators will grow 181.87 lei for 1691 beneficiaries.

Besides, the state social allowances will grow for 63.5 thousand beneficiaries, as well as the care benefit for 14.1 thousand beneficiaries.

As Infotag has already reported, the size of the indexation (8.43%) was calculated on the basis of the average inflation over the last three years. Since 2020 the pension indexation will take place twice a year – on April 1 and October 2. The size of the second increment will be calculated on the basis of inflation in the first half-year.
