07 april, 2020

Two more patients infected with COVID-19 have died in Moldova, bringing the list of disease victims to 21 persons, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbraveanu reported at her traditional daily press briefing held this morning.

Both men were aged 68. They were hospitalized on April 3 and 6 in an extremely grave condition.

“To date, we have carried out 4598 tests, of which 965 confirmed a coronavirus diagnosis. Out of the 965 instances, 111 were confirmed with Moldova citizens who had returned from foreign countries, and 854 caught the infection already in Moldova. By now, 21 people have died and 40 fully recovered. Presently, 77 patients are in a serious condition and 335 are in a medium-gravity shape”, said the Minister.

Viorica Dumbraveanu stressed that the World Health Day, marked annually on April 7, has a particular significance this year because the world has come to face a global coronavirus disaster. In this connection, the Minister once again called citizens to observe doctors’ recommendation and thus to facilitate their hard job of fighting the coronavirus.
