PAST WEEK BROUGHT HIGHEST CoV INCIDENCE STATISTICS IN MOLDOVA

The past week brought a record-breaking COVID-19 incidence figure in Moldova ever since the start of testing on March 7. On June 1 through 8, Moldovan laboratories revealed 1449 infection instances. A week before (May 25 to June 1), the figure was 1158.

The Saturday of June 6 marked an ‘anti-record’ of daily incidence – 264 new cases. Last Monday, there were 109 new cases confirmed, on Tuesday – 147, Wednesday – 247, Thursday – 223, Friday – 229, Saturday – 264, and on Sunday – 189.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, by Monday morning, the total coronavirus incidence figure reached 9700 cases. Since the pandemic beginning, 5638 people recovered, but 341 died, including 18 persons who passed away this past weekend.

Among the infected people, 1777 are medical workers, of whom 20 have died.
