OPPOSITION CRITIZES STATEMENTS OF NAPH HEAD DEMANDING HIS RESIGNATION

08 september, 2020

Opposition representatives criticized the statements of the head of the National Agency for Public Health (NAPH) Nicolae Furtuna (who said in one of the programs that “COVID-19 took the lives of those who were a burden to themselves and to others, people who suffered with the last stages of cancer, with cardiovascular diseases"), demanding his resignation.

The chairman of Platform DA, Andrei Nastase, wrote on social networks that in this way “the authorities have once again proved their absolute insensitivity when it concerns the health of citizens”.

"The resignation of this personage, Furtuna, is the only opportunity to admit guilt for this insult to all Moldovan citizens, first of all, those affected by the coronavirus," he said, calling on "all political forces to consolidate their efforts and achieve Furtuna's resignation."

The leader of the party Pro Moldova, Andrian Candu, expressed the opinion that "the authorities of Dodon-Chicu-Filip have demonstrated shocking cynicism - the pandemic has thrown off the masks from these inhumans."

According to him, "more than a thousand victims of COVID-19, including medical workers who gave their lives to save others, do not matter to Dodon and his gang."

Vice-Chairman of the Party of Action and Solidarity Mihai Popsoi pointed that "even Igor Dodon did not dare to go to such an insult to the departed."

“The authorities say in such a way that only the healthy have the right to life, and the sick and the poor are a burden,” Popsoi said.
