CZECH GOVERNMENT PRESENTS MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO COMBAT COVID-19 IN MOLDOVA

The Government of Czechia has provided a consignment of medical equipment to help Moldova maintain measures of security in coronavirus pandemic conditions. The equipment handover ceremony took place on Tuesday.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Moldova Zdenek Krejci said at the ceremony that the Government of his country regards it as their duty to help foreign partners, including Moldova, in every possible way.

The Ambassador said that over 30 thousand units of equipment for doctors and other medical workers and for patients – face masks, protective overalls, disinfectants etc. total worth 124 thousand euros will be distributed by the Moldovan Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection among 4 Moldovan health institutions situated in Soroca, Balti and Cocieri.

Zdenek Krejci stressed that the Czech Republic provides up to 3 million euros per year for development projects and charitable undertakings in Moldova.

Minister of Health Viorica Dumbraveanu expressed gratitude to Czech partners for their assistance, which is particularly valuable in the current pandemic conditions.

The Minister reminded that earlier this month the Czech Republic provided for hospitals in the Causeni Raion and Calarasi Raion 11 and 10 sophisticated intensive-therapy beds together with auxiliary equipment, which are efficiently used at local hospitals.
