On November 13, several thousand supporters of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) held a rally in the square of the Opera and Ballet Theater in the center of Chisinau in support of the independent presidential candidate Igor Dodon.

As Infotag reports, in front of the building's steps, rows of young people with stretched banners lined up. There are inscriptions on them: "May 9 - Victory Day", "Igor Dodon - President!" In their hands, the protesters held the flags of Moldova and party flags with the words in Romanian and Russian. They shouted slogans: "As long as we are united, we are invincible!", "Together, we will cope!"

The head of Dodon's electoral headquarters, Vlad Batrincea, said that thousands of PSRM supporters and Dodon sympathizers from all districts and municipalities of the country attended the rally.

“There are presenters from the north and south, east and west. We speak different languages, we are different - but we are all citizens of Moldova, we are one people. We are not separatists. We need a responsible president and this person is Igor Dodon!,” the Socialist deputy declared.

Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban reminded that “Dodon had full power (despite the election in 2016 -“I. ”) for just over a year, and before that, since 2011, there was a struggle for power.”

“And a lot has been done this year, despite the pandemic and drought, the economic downturn and incredible human fatigue. Why did we manage to do a lot? Because there was a president and his team who worked in unison with the government and parliament. This must be kept!,” Ceban stressed.

The other MP, Bogan Tirdea, stated that “Maia Sandu urges not to vote for Dodon.”

“Why does she call not to vote for Dodon? Because at one time she voted for the allocation of 5 billion lei to those three banks from which a billion was stolen. Sandu voted, being with Plahotniuc (former Democrats’ leader) in three governments! And Dodon drove Plahotniuc away! Sandu said that there was no money to raise the salaries of teachers and state employees, and Dodon increased their salaries by 12-18%. We should not lose civil peace in Moldova, just like it happened in Ukraine and Belarus. We are not separatists - we are all citizens of a single country,” Tirdea noted.

Independent presidential candidate Igor Dodon said at the event that he “does not want to divide people into good and bad.”

“I urge you all to join forces and protect our Motherland on November 15. We have no other country, we are all citizens of the Republic of Moldova. I urge you all to be together. Our opponents crossed all the red lines. We did not touch them until November 1, but they became insolent. I promise that we will not miss our victory, and if it is necessary to come out here to defend it, we will do it! We must do this not for the sake of Dodon, but for the memory of our ancestors and the future of our children. Our opponents crossed the red lines and until they get it in the face, they won't understand it! I urge you that on November 15 we all as one vote against this gang. We will not allow anyone to take our homeland away from us!” Dodon outlined.
