SLUSARI HOPES FOR FINAL FAILURE OF “DODON’S ATTEMPTS TO STIR UP INTER-ETHNIC CONFLICTS”

22 january, 2021

A Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Platforma DA party Alexandru Slusari has called as “expected and prepared beforehand” the negative reaction of Igor Dodon and his Party of Socialists to the Thursday’s Constitutional Court decision on the Law on the functioning of languages in Moldova.

Slusari believes that even without this Law, the Russian language in Moldova is quite well protected, particularly compared with many other republics of the former Soviet Union.

Writing in social networks, he enumerated “More than 200 secondary schools working in the Russian language; tens of domestic information portals and television programs; a free access to any foreign mass media working in Russian; no restrictions in the Internet; the market economy has itself solved the languages problem in shops and at markets, etc. A really big problem I can only see only is the absence of a state policy and of a program of studying the Romanian language by other ethnic groups”, and claimed that “it is just a disgrace to live in the country for so many years and not to learn its state language”.

Like the Constitutional Court yesterday, Alexandru Slusari named as “anti-constitutional” the Law on languages adopted by the Parliament on December 16, 2020. He offered an opinion that yes, “the country is increasingly returning to the turmoil 1990s but not because of the languages but because it has become a battlefield of rivalry between the criminal gangs of Vladimir Plahotniuc, Ilan Sor, Igor Dodon and Veaceslav Platon”.

“To smokescreen their criminal nature, the mafia-controlling politicians are again throwing into the society the apples of inter-ethnic discord. And while citizens will be deciding which language is more suitable for cursing in the conditions of a total poverty and corruption, the international banditry groups will be robbing everybody”, wrote Alexandru Slusari.
