HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDER PAVEL GRIGORCIUC DIRECTS FILM ABOUT DORIN DAMIR

22 july, 2021

The head of the human rights association Dreptul la drеptate (The right to justice ) Pavel Grigorciuc has made a film about Dorin Damir, the closest relative and associate of the oligarch, former Democrats’ leader, Vlad Plahotniuc, who is wanted by the law enforcement agencies of Moldova. The activist posted a 40-minute video on his blog “Grigorciuc’s truth” on the youtube channel.

Grigorciuc recalled that Damir was arrested by the Moldovan special services in early July and is now under arrest for 30 days on charges of abuse of office, misappropriation of other people's property, illegal border crossing, disclosure of state secrets and forgery.

“For a number of years Damir was a liaison between Plahotniuc and his entourage and judges. On condition of anonymity, a number of magistrates reported that Damir had given instructions on whom to imprison, from whom to take away the business, and who to persecute,” the defender stressed

In addition, “it was Damir who gave instructions on behalf of the oligarch in the divisions of the prosecutor's office to corrupt employees, the human rights activist is sure.”

Grigorciuc believes that Damir was involved in the execution of Plahotniuc's scrupulous orders. So, for example, he would bring the infamous Ukrainian judge Nicolai Ceaus into the country, and then ensure his security on the territory of Moldova.

In the course of the film, the public figure expressed his conviction that through Damir's efforts a private army was created for Plahotniuc, which at a certain stage until June 2019 replaced the special services of the Republic of Moldova and was assisted in this activity by high-ranking officials, deputies, politicians.
