POLL: CITIZENS' OPINIONS ON REFERENDUM ARE DIVIDED
Citizens' opinions on holding a referendum on the same day as the presidential elections this year are divided, according to the data of a sociological survey conducted by iData company.
According to the results of the survey, presented on Thursday, 43% of respondents support the idea of holding a referendum on European integration on the same day as the presidential election, while 43.9% are against it (the rest are undecided).
The director of iData, Mihai Bologan, believes that "these data clearly show that the referendum issue has divided the society, but holding a plebiscite will do nothing, as sociological data prove that the majority of citizens are still pro-European."
According to the survey, 57,4% of respondents are in favor of Moldova's accession to the European Union, while 32,8% are against. 56% of respondents were against Moldova's accession to NATO, while 31.3% were in favor.
Also, according to the presented data, 84,7% of respondents are against the legalization of marijuana in Moldova, and only 8% are "for" it
The poll was conducted on March 18-24, with the participation of 1,131 people. The margin of error is 2.85%.
