​MORE THAN FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE STARTED FREE ROMANIAN LANGUAGE COURSES

More than five thousand people have started to study at free courses of Romanian language, according to the Ministry of Education, Science and Research, which organized the courses for representatives of national minorities.

According to the report, more than 12 thousand people have signed up for the courses, and the rest of those who wish to take part in the training will start in July and September this year. The ministry stressed that due to the large number of people willing to learn the Romanian language, they had to hire more than 120 teachers, who started to be trained to teach the courses on April 15.

Each enrollee was tested and then assigned to a study group depending on the level of Romanian language skills (A1, A2 or B1). More than 5 thousand students, who have already started classes, are divided into 274 groups, taught by 229 teachers. Of the total number of learners, 3,533 are attending courses and 1,486 are online. Thirty-eight refugees from Ukraine have also enrolled in the free courses.

"At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate indicating the level of Romanian language proficiency in accordance with European standards," the ministry's report said.
