CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT JOURNALISM ORGANIZES FLASH MOB IN FRONT OF THE RUSSIAN EMBASSY IN CHISINAU ON PRESS FREEDOM DAY

The Center for Independent Journalism (CJI) will organize a flash mob in front of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau on May 3, International Press Freedom Day. As the organizers told INFOTAG, they intend to say a decisive “NO” to the actions of the Russian leadership as a sign of solidarity and resistance to the pressure of the Moscow authorities on journalists.

The action under the slogan “United for Freedom of the Press. The truth cannot be hidden!” will be attended by media representatives, human rights defenders and civil activists to express support for journalists whose right to freedom of expression is being suppressed and to emphasize the consequences of the war in Ukraine for free and independent media.

Also on Friday, CJI will present, as is tradition, another Press Freedom Memorandum revealing the main problems of Moldova's media over the past year.
