TRANSNISTRIA HOLDS EXTRAORDINARY SNIPER SHOOTING EXERCISE

The armed forces of the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic (PMR) held an extraordinary sniper shooting exercise organized “due to the aggravating political situation developing around the PMR”, reported the region’s ministry of defense.

The ministry explained the purpose of the exercise as follows: the need to improve the personnel’s skills at using the Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD), at choosing best shooting positions, determining of initial conditions for reconnoitering of targets. The servicemen acted within a sniper team and a usual combat subdivision, demonstrating their combat readiness.

The shooting practices were organized both in the daytime and at night. Practically all of the snipers demonstrated very high professional skills in secret arranging of shooting positions, in determining the range till the target, and in neutralizing the target from the first shot, reported the exercise command.
