PMR FOREIGN MINISTRY FROWNED AT SEARCH OF TIRASPOL OFFICIAL IN CHISINAU AIRPORT

01 december, 2016

The Transnistrian Foreign Ministry regarded as another act of pressure on representative of PMR authorities the detention and search of PMR Deputy Chairwoman Alevtina Slinchenko on Wednesday evening, when she was returning from working trip to Moscow.

The foreign office’s report in this connection points at a “cynic and provocative character of such restrictive measures, undertaken by Moldovan border police against the government member, who had headed a delegation of Transnistrian observers within the Moldova-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation meeting in Moscow”.

The Transnistrian ministry expressed concerns about the provoking actions from the side of Moldovan officers, maintaining that such unilateral steps prevent from building bilateral communication both in the negotiation process and in other actual platform. It urged Moldova to renounce the bad practice of pressure on Transnistria and any unilateral actions, which destroy trust and provoke tension in relations between the sides.

The ministry intends soon to address to co-chairpersons of the Moldova-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission with a demand to give an assessment to the discriminative actions, undertaken by Moldovan representatives and to adopt measures to prevent such incidents in future.

Infotag’s dossier: Transnistrian authorities are always painfully reacting on detention and supervision of its officials in Chisinau airport. The last time a similar incident was registered on November 16, when PMR education ministry Tatiana Tsivinskaya was departing to Moscow for a working trip to Abkhazia. Moldovan law enforcement agencies refute Tiraspol authorities’ accusations, maintaining that they are guided by the law requirements in their activity and have equal approach to all the passengers.
