TRANSNISTRIAN KGB DECIDES TO PAY FOR REPORTS ABOUT VIOLATIONS AT ELECTION

09 december, 2016

For the first time ever, the Transnistrian committee for state security (KGB) will be paying citizens 1,000 to 500,000 rubles (US$88 to US$44 thousand) for true information about violations being prepared or to be committed during the December 11 presidential election or vote count.

The KGB wrote in its appeals to compatriots that on the basis of the addresses by citizens, concerned about possible election falsification or about possible bribing of voters or election commission members, the committee is undertaking overt and covert actions to protect the people’s free will expression.

The KGB has promised to use witness protection mechanisms that should promote the detection and curbing of criminal encroachments aimed at election rigging, and is introducing payments for true information that can be reported via a hot-line or personally to security officers.
