27 april, 2018

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Lise Pascal Le Deunff, welcomed the good progress achieved lately in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, and called Transnistria president Vadim Krasnoselsky to maintain and continue this positive dynamic.

The French diplomat met Krasnoselsky on Thursday in Tiraspol, where he came for the first time since his appointment to the ambassadorial post in Chisinau.

"Standing for peace and security in Europe, France is supporting the instruments that have been created for their protection. We are convinced of the active and positive role played by the OSCE for ensuring a sustainable dialog by holding the 5+2 format negotiations", the Ambassador said, and pointed out the importance of the Protocol Decision, signed last Tuesday between Chisinau and Tiraspol on the participation of Transnistrian motor vehicles in the international road traffic.

Pascal Le Deunff thanked Vadim Krasnoselsky for the warm welcome and said that he was asked to confirm to the Transnistrian side that France and the European Union are interested in a peaceful settlement of the problematic questions in the Transnistria-Moldova relationship.

Touching on the growing Transnistrian exports to European Union countries, Pascal Le Deunff urged Tiraspol to continue the current positive dynamic and to use all available possibilities for this.

Vadim Krasnoselsky confirmed that Transnistria is interested to develop relations with France, including economic ones.
