RUSSIAN PATRIARCH TO VISIT TRANSNISTRIA AND GAGAUZIA

Within his visit to Moldova, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will visit various localities, including Transnistria and Gagauzia, wrote President Igor Dodon on his Facebook page.

He wrote that on Tuesday he met with Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova. discussing the preparation for His Holiness Patriarch of Russia's pastoral visit, which is planned for October 25-28.

"It is for the first time when Russian Patriarch will visit the north and the south of Moldova. The preliminary visit agenda includes a service conducted by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill in the Chisinau Cathedral on October 25. Next day, the Patriarch will go to Bender, on October 27 - to Comrat, while on October 28 - to Balti", Dodon wrote.

According to him, all Moldova's Orthodox believers are waiting for the visit of Patriarch Kirill's visit.

"I expressed confidence that the Moldovan Metropolitan Church will forever preserve the unity with the Russian Orthodox Church", Dodon wrote. The meeting of Dodon with Moldovan Metropolitan Vladimir in the latter's residence.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia has twice visited Moldova before - in October 2011 and September 2013. Within his last visit he also visited Tiraspol.
