TRANSNISTRIANS MAY VOTE AT 47 POLLING STATIONS AT PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

The Central Election Commission ordered to open 47 polling stations for participation of electors from Transnistria in parliamentary elections on February 24.

22 polling stations will be opened for the single-member constituency #47 (Camenca, Rybnitsa, Grigoriopol) and 25 – for the constituency #25 (Tiraspol, Bender, Slobozia). The stations will function mostly in the mainland Moldova (Chisinau, Balti, Rezina, Criuleni), but several polling stations will be working on the left side of the Dniester River (in Molovata Noua, Cocieri and Cosnita villages of the Dubasari raion, which are subjected to Moldovan authorities).

The CEC also called on national and international observers, representatives of the Joint Control Commission [JCC, a supervisory body for the Joint Peacekeeping Forces] to ensure peaceful conducting of the voting process at polling stations in the Security Zone.

Also, , on the basis of a governmental decree, the CEC approved the opening of 125 polling stations abroad – 83 of these will be opened for the single-member constituency “West”, 27 – for the “East” and 15 – for the US and Canada.
