MOLDOVA PRESIDENT AND OSCE MISSION HEAD SPEAK OUT FOR CONSOLIDATION OF TRUST BETWEEN DNIESTER RIVER SIDES

Moldova President Igor Dodon and Ambassador Claus Neukirch, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, met on Monday and spoke out for continuing efforts to consolidate confidence between Dniester River sides.

Igor Dodon wrote on his Facebook page afterwards: "For the main question, we discussed the current situation of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, in particular measures to consolidate trust between the sides. We expressed a common point of view that all the negotiation parties should continue joint steps to promote the realization of accords achieved earlier".

The President wrote that Ambassador Claus Neukirch welcomed the success achieved in the realization of the Berlin+ Package and supported Moldova's efforts aimed at promoting the conflict settlement process.

Dodon and Neukirch discussed also the question of organization of the President's meeting with Transnistrian administration head Vadim Krasnoselsky, which may take place in late July or early August.

"I assured the OSCE Mission Head that the Republic of Moldova leadership is firmly intending to further protect the interests, rights and freedoms of citizens residing on both Dniester River sides and to promote an active cooperation with the OSCE", wrote Igor Dodon.
