TIRASPOL LEADER BELIEVES THAT MOLDOVA ONLY CREATES VISIBILITY OF DESIRE TO MOVE FORWARD IN NEGOTIATIONS

The Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky "has a feeling that the Moldovan side is artificially creating the appearance of a desire to move in the negotiation process."

He said this on Thursday at a meeting with the head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Claus Neukirch, calling it “an unacceptable situation when political interests, rather than social and humanitarian aspects, are at the forefront”.

Krasnoselsky condemned "references to electoral circumstances, which are systematically used as an explanation for the inaction of the Moldovan negotiators or the inconsistency of their decisions."

"These are domestic issues that should not affect foreign policy," he said.

The Tiraspol leader "noted with regret that, in addition to the lack of progress in solving problems, the agreements reached earlier are not being fulfilled, moreover, even successfully launched and well-functioning mechanisms are stalled."

“An example is the issuance of neutral number plates. Moldova unilaterally withdrew from the agreement on the points of registration of vehicles (PRV), arguing this decision, allegedly, by the non-extension of the relevant law. This argument is dubious,” he said, calling “the approach of the Moldovan side to the solution of urgent issues for citizens not serious.”

Speaking about the situation with the incidence of COVID-19, Krasnoselsky said that "about 80% of the citizens of the PMR who contracted the coronavirus had contact with its carriers from Moldova."

“While Moldova is “ablaze,” is in the “red zone” and evades the quarantine security requirements, we will restrict contacts. The virus must be stopped, and if the situation worsens, Transnistria will be forced to again increase the number of quarantine posts on the border,” he stressed.
