INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IN TRANSNISTRIA TURNS BACK TO 2019 VOLUME

The industry of Transnistria overcame the lag due to the pandemic, and by the beginning of September has manufactured products for 7.797 billion of local rubles (US $ 484.2 million). As the press service of the region's statistics reports, in current prices this is by 1.2% less than a year earlier, and in comparable prices – by 1.3% more.

The main part in the improvement of the indicators takes the electric power industry, which not only maintained its production, but also increased it by 7.9% - to 2.627 billion rubles by the growth of electricity supplies to the right-bank Moldova.

Practically all other industries experienced a decline: in ferrous metallurgy - by 2.2%, in light industry - by 13.6%, in machine industry - by 19.9%, and in wood-processing - by more than a half (51.8%).

With regard to income from sales, the situation is similar. In the power industry, they exceeded 2.615 billion rubles (+ 8.1%), in ferrous metallurgy - 2.166 billion (-1.7%), in food industry - 963.3 million (-9.7%).

Geographically, most industrial products were produced in Rybnitsa - for 2.505 billion rubles. (-3%) and in Tiraspol – for 2.071 billion (-6%). And least of all - in the Kamensky district, for about 41.3 million rubles, but here an increase of as much as 60.8% was registered.
