TRANISNTRIA CALLS ON MOLDOVA NOT TO OBSTACLE RESIDENTS OF THE REGION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NOVEMBER 29 ELECTIONS

The so-called Foreign Ministry of Transnistria has addressed in advance to the office of the representative for political affairs from Moldova with an appeal “to ensure the implementation of the electoral rights of the citizens of the region on the Single Election Day on November 29.” The Transnistrian authorities report that they have not received an official response yet.

According to a comment of the Transnistrian Foreign Ministry, “the silence of Chisinau threatens the implementation of the principle of universal and equal suffrage, concluded in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international documents.”

The Transnistrian authorities call on the international partners to “pay attention to the current situation and provide assistance in preventing provocations on the election day.”

At the elections on November 29, the region will elect “deputies of all levels.”
