JCC MEETING FAILS AGAIN DUE TO DISCORD OVER AGENDA

27 november, 2020

The Joint Control Commission (JCC, the supervisory body for the Joint Peacekeeping Forces) again failed to hold its ordinary weekly working meeting on Thursday because the Moldovan and Transnistrian delegations were not able to agree upon its agenda. For a second month by now, the Moldovan delegation has been insisting on discussing in the JCC the unfolding by Tiraspol of its unlawful border-crossing stations in the Security Zone, which are obstacles to free movement of people and motor vehicles, and of kidnapping people by the Transnistrian law enforcement. And for a second month, the Transnistrian delegation has been maintaining that these issues are outside the scope of the JCC competence.
