GAGAUZIA BASHKAN DISCUSSES IN ANKARA THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS IN AUTONOMY

Irina Vlah, Bashkan [governor] of the southern Moldovan autonomous region of Gagauzia, met in Ankara with Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) President Serkan Kayalar and discussed with him the implementation of projects in the autonomy and perspectives of cooperation.

She thanked the Turkish partners for the assistance they rendered in 2020 to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic in Gagauzia.

The parties negotiated the question of the construction of an Industrial College in Comrat town, Gagauzia’s administrative center. A tender to select a contractor company for this project has been scheduled for March.

Irina Vlah and Serkan Kayalar discussed also the broadening of water-supply and sewage networks in Valcanes town in Gagauzia.

The autonomy will be shortly visited by a delegation of experts from Turkey who will analyze projects already accomplished and will draw up a plan for further works.
