MOLDOVA PROVIDED TRANSNISTRIA WITH 22 THOUSAND DOSE OF VACCINE AGAINST COVID-19 FROM MID-JUNE

22 july, 2021

From June 16 to July 21, 22 thousand doses of vaccine against COVID-19 were distributed to the Transnistrian region, both received by Moldova in the form of humanitarian aid and purchased from budget funds.

According to the press service of the Bureau for Reintegration, the matter concerns 15 thousand doses of Janssen vaccine, 5 thousand doses of Sinopharm and 2 thousand doses of AstraZeneca. In addition, syringes were sent with them.

The Bureau noted “vaccines were distributed in all administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova, including the eastern regions, fairly and proportionally.”

In addition to vaccines, the Transnistrian region also received several humanitarian consignments of personal protective equipment and medical equipment. Persons vaccinated on the left bank can confirm the validity of vaccination certificates issued there in the nearest territorial subdivisions of medical institutions of the Republic of Moldova.

The authorities of the region in every possible way keep silent about the fact that vaccines come from Moldova, presenting all this as foreign humanitarian aid intended for Transnistria. Only on the eve of the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova on July 11, the Tiraspol leader, Vadim Krasnoselsky, admitted that of all vaccines coming to Moldova from foreign structures, including from WHO, it allocates 10% to Transnistria.”

“This is a good example of humanitarian cooperation. Frankly, this is the decision of Mrs. Sandu, the President of Moldova, for which we are very grateful. I hope that this humanitarian cooperation will continue,” Krasnoselsky stressed at a meeting with the leadership of Tiraspol.
