TRANSNISTRIA TESTING NEW SYSTEM OF EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENTS

On Thursday, Transnistria’s telecommunication operator InterDnestrCom (IDC) is testing its new system of emergency announcements SMS Broadcast, to be used in cases of emergency. Each mobile network subscriber present in the region is sent an “IDC test message”, which will appear on the mobile phone screen over all images or the lock screen, accompanied by a sound signal. This is a jointly developed project of the Ministry of the Interior Department of Emergency Situations and of a mobile network company, which is necessary for timely and immediate notification of the population about a possible impending danger to citizens.
