TRANSNISTRIAN EXPORTS IN THE FIRST QUARTER DECREASED BY 8%, IMPORTS - BY 16%

According to the results of the first quarter of 2024, the foreign trade turnover of the Transnistrian region of Moldova, excluding the energy component, decreased by 13%. According to the data of the customs committee of the region, the volume of imports decreased by 16%, and exports - by 8%. Deliveries of machine-building products fell by 45%. The most noticeable negative dynamics was noted at the plants "Electromash" and "Moldavkabel". Electricity exports decreased by 10%, food products - by 8% due to the decrease in supplies of wheat, corn and sunflower. Experts note a significant decrease in the volume of imported textile materials, mineral fertilizers, food raw materials - sugar, as well as sunflower seeds and corn, raw materials for metallurgy and machine building.
