PRESIDENT IS CONVINCED THAT TRANSNISTRIA HAS NO OTHER FUTURE EXCEPT REMAINING TOGETHER WITH MOLDOVA

Moldovan President Igor Dodon stated at the news conference on Tuesday that Transnistria just has no future other than one together with Moldova. The head of state proposed "to look into the future together and to work to bring the Dniester River sides together".

"I am convinced that an absolute majority of citizens want precisely this", said Dodon, stressing that he has never changed his initial stance on the Transnistrian problem settlement.

The President stressed that most people in Moldova stand for reintegration of the country "no matter what we discuss - a federation or confederation or a special legal status for Transnistria. The chief thing is that we need to achieve a political consensus. I think that Transnistria leaders are beginning to understand this, and they are making first steps towards us".
