Brussels officials are pushing to begin formal negotiations over Ukraine's and Moldova's joining the European Union as early as next month, according to people familiar with the matter, according to Politico sources.

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), Anca Dragu, stated about the necessity of activation of financial intermediation, development of capital market and private pension system in the Republic of Moldova at the international conference of the IMF and the central bank of Slovenia. The NBM press service reported that Dragu said that this will improve access to finance, providing Moldovan citizens with an alternative for financing and saving.

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mikhailo Radutsky and Mykola Stefanchuk have urged Moldova to strengthen security and fight Russian propaganda. As INFOTAG reports, they said this on Monday evening during the program “New Week with Anatolie Golea” on TV8 channel.

Moldova's extensive economic activity of re-exports to Ukraine has promoted the neighboring country to the second place among Moldova's trade partners. According to the INFOTAG agency, this is stated in the World Bank (WB) review on the prospects for the Moldovan economy.
