French President Emmanuel Macron has voiced support for the expansion of the European Union through the integration of Ukraine, Moldova, and Western Balkan countries into the EU. He made this statement on Thursday during a public address at the Sorbonne University.

On the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Chernobyl, President Maia Sandu warned of the danger of nuclear catastrophe. She noted that April 26 marks the 38th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The head of state expressed gratitude to the Moldovan citizens who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of one of the most devastating man-made disasters of the XX century.

“The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is working intensively to open a diplomatic mission in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the near future,” Deputy Prime Minister and head of the MFA Mihai Popsoi said. He told the public TV channel Moldova1 on Thursday evening that the opening of the new embassy will allow Moldova to expand cultural and economic ties with Central Asian countries and, above all, with Kazakhstan, with which Moldova has good partnership relations.

On Friday, Moldovagaz will ask the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to reduce the tariff for consumers, said Moldovagaz Chairman of the Board Vadim Ceban.
